Small Groups.

We've been created from and are created for relationships - both with God, and with others. God's desire for us is that life is lived in community WITH each other and with Him. In our small groups you will find the opportunity for both relational connection and spiritual formation. While some small groups are traditional Bible studies, others are more topical or interest based. However, all of them have a three-fold mission - connect with God and His word; connect with each other; and serve. There is wonderful spiritual dialogue and discussion; and we look for ways to encourage and provoke one another toward living life according to God's design.

Helping Hands.

At WVCN, we believe that we are all part of God's family. As a family, there are times when we need to take care of each other with regards to financial matters. The Helping Hands Fund is available to those in our church family that have a serious financial need. It is supported by other members of the family contributing through the Helping Hands Fund.

A collection for Helping Hands is taken once a month at the end of our corporate worship time. Requests for Helping Hands Funds can be made to any of the Pastors and will be kept strictly confidential.

Food Pantry.

Warwick Valley Church of the Nazarene collects food for the Alamo Food Pantry in Pine Island and The Warwick United Methodist Ecumenical Food Pantry. All are welcome to donate non-perishable food items such as

  • canned goods

  • dried beans

  • pasta

  • baby food

  • and other like items

Our drop off location is the storage area in our foyer marked ‘Donation Closet’.

Serving Others.

We are fully engaged in our community and in God’s creation. WVCN provides numerous ways to serve others through our church by supporting various ministries and causes directly and through members of our congregation.

Some of the ways that we serve are:

  • in soup kitchens

  • food pantries

  • visiting shut-ins

  • filling shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child

  • supporting a local Christian-based maternity home Faith House

  • preparing Crisis Care Kits that are shipped throughout the world when tragedy strikes

  • collecting clothes for various clothing drives

  • Caring Crafters Community - for anyone that can knit, sew, craft or crochet and would like to take part in various service projects. Visit the website for more info.

Missions.

Missions at WVCN is about going across town and also around the globe to spread the good news of God's love. As a missional church, we seek to be fully engaged in our community and our world. We try to bring the Good news to life in everyday situations; to show Christ's love and draw others closer to Him by coming alongside them, acting as the hands and feet of Christ to our neighbors near and far in the midst of their immediate emotional, physical and spiritual needs.

We seek to share God's love in tangible ways through Compassionate Ministries:

  • helping to feed the hungry through our local food drives and fund-raising efforts for those in other parts of the world

  • helping to clothe those who are in need through our yearly clothing drive

  • collecting funds bi-yearly for the Church of the Nazarene's Alabaster offering which goes toward the construction of churches, schools, medical facilities and homes for missionaries

  • encouraging our missionaries in other parts of the world through our prayers and other support as needed

We also try to inform those in our church body of some of the world’s needs and try to assist those in our church family to help meet those needs, thereby participating in the Greatest Commandment: to love our neighbors as ourselves.
